I dont know if youve seen the trailer for the film that me and my friend have been working on, but we used 500 feet of cable for our cable cam, I think there is only one shot of it in the trailer though. But I dont know if you plan on having yours maned liked we did, but it takes a long time to set up and perfect. On a good day for us, if we were lucky we could set it up in two different spots but thats about it.

looks like you need a new eye cup. You can pick one up at photo village in franklin for pretty cheep.
